Many of you, including myself, have used this most widely used 'New Years Resolution' of all time. "This year I will get in better shape". We too often use this as temporary motivation, which last maybe a month or two. The 'holiday festivities' can really put a damper on your fitness goals for the new year. You can easily find yourself ten pounds heavier come December 31st.
So here is where the 'education' comes to play. Good deeds toward your fellow man should have no limits. This should also be the same when it comes to treating your body. There shouldn't be a 'right before summer diet' or 'lose a few extra pounds, so I can get into a bridal dress diet'. Overall fitness takes a 'lifestyle change'. It should be 'year round'! It's as simple as using 2% milk instead of whole milk, ground turkey instead of ground beef, or balsamic vinaigrette rather than ranch or thousand island. One of my biggest 'pet peeves' is to see a person that appears to be eating healthier by eating a salad, only to load the 'leafy greens' with pasta, ham, bacon bits, croûtons, and Thousand Island dressing, and that's before the entree'.
